Burial & Four Tet – Moth/Wolf Cub 12″

two pioneers of the past decade in electronic music team up for this 12″ single. information on this collaboration is scant, with no pre-release press or even album art to accompany the two tracks. side A contains ‘moth’, a lightly syncopated minimalist techno number. obviously, i can’t tell for certain who is responsible for what on these songs, but each artist’s trademarks are easy to find throughout. burial’s throb and detuned bass synth provide a sturdy base for moth, while kieran hebdan’s twinkly, glitchy findings float above. four tet begins ‘wolf cub’ in his spritely fashion, before burial drops some dubsteppy magic into the mix around the 2 and a half minute mark.

i highly doubt these were the only two tracks to come out of this session. let’s hear some more, guys! that is, unless this isn’t just kieran hebdan ‘collaborating’ with himself to get people talking.
